Lety Dorigo joined the firm as a partner in 2023. She focuses her practice on the fiduciary, prohibited transaction, pension plan, and health plan provisions of ERISA. She advises clients on compliance issues and in government investigations across a wide range of employee benefits matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Dorigo worked for 15 years at the U.S. Department of Labor, Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA), including serving as Deputy Regional Director for the Los Angeles Regional Office and advisor to the EBSA Office of Enforcement Division of Field Operations and Support. She oversaw a diverse portfolio of civil investigations, including Taft-Hartley plans, pension plans, health plans, apprenticeship plans, and employee stock ownership plans, including multiple cases in litigation. Her efforts resulted in $100s of millions in benefit recoveries for employee benefit plan participants. She also led region-wide projects related to financially distressed/bankrupt plan sponsors and terminated vested participants. She routinely referred tax compliance issues to the IRS and worked closely with the PBGC when defined benefit plans were in financial distress. Prior to joining EBSA management, she served as a union steward and on the local executive board for the American Federation of Government Employees.
During her tenure at EBSA, Ms. Dorigo received several awards, including the Secretary of Labor Honors Award, Federal Executive Board Public Service Award, and U.S. Attorney’s Office Distinguished Law Enforcement Officer Award. She also presented on behalf of EBSA to outside stakeholders, including bankruptcy panel trustees and nationwide job seekers. Prior to EBSA, she externed at both the California Public Employment Relations Board and the National Labor Relations Board.
Ms. Dorigo is an avid trivia buff, and appeared as a contestant on The Chase, Best Ever Trivia Show, and Master Minds.
